Bob Gorgon Elderberry plants are hardy and easy to grow full sun hardwood shrubs that easily reach 5 to 6 feet in height, with a deep root system that aid in preventing soil displacement or erosion. You’ll find this variety to offer superior fruit quality, blooming in the spring and summer with up to 1’ across flowering heads. Fruit produced are extra sweet and a great selection for winemakers because of its high BRIX rating.

The Bob Gordon strain of elderberry was originally found in Missouri and was also included in the University of Missouri-Columbia “Elderberry Improvement Project”.  In the study it ranked as the highest producer per acre.  They are one of the earliest and longest flowering of the elderberry varieties within the University of Missouri study.

Additionally, we suggest Bob Gordon’s  be cross-pollinate.  At our farm we plant them in conjunction with the Wyldewood variety.
